Shrewsbury Concert Band is an adult (ie over 16 years) wind band that currently rehearses at 7.30pm on Thursdays during the school term at Meole Brace Primary School, Church Road, Shrewsbury SY3 9HG.
The band is conducted by Ken Lumley formerly Head of Music at Meole Brace School in Shrewsbury. The band attracts players from all over the county of Shropshire and performs in and around the County throughout the year. We play a wide range of music arranged for wind bands from William Byrd to the Beatles and as a guide we suggest members should be of a playing standard equivalent to Grade 5 but no auditions are required and new members are always welcome.
